Currently I’m in Dallas. I got to see Jami this morning and she looked like she was doing well. She recognized me when I came in to see her which made me smile. From what I hear her short term memory is not up to speed, but her other memories are coming back very rapidly. As of 7:45 this morning they haven’t taken her to surgery, but the plan is to do surgery some time this morning.

Now that I’m close to the situation I can tell you exactly what she has. The disease is called arteriovenous malformation or AVM. The way I understand it is that there is an enlarged vessel that in a way leads to nowhere. Here are some lovely artist renderings of what it looks like.

During this initial surgery they will go in and, while she is conscious, numb the artery in question. If she starts to feel bad, which is the best way I can describe it, they will abort the surgery. From that point they will have to do more diagnosis and re-strategize. If things go according to plan, then they will glue the artery shut and that will cause it to die. From this point there is another fork in the road. Things will either be ok and she will not need another surgery, or they will have to go in a second, and depending on the severity, a third or forth time to remove the bundle of dead arteries. I hope this helps some of you who are trying to sort through my prior third hand information.

My family and I feel very blessed to know that I have such supportive friends. I personally feel that everyone’s support is why I feel as confident as I do and not a weeping pile on the floor of hate and confusion. Thank you, from my deepest being, thank you.

I just got off the phone with me mom. Things are going well. Jami is alert but still a little confused as to why she is in the hospital. They have found out that the abnormal artery is in her neck and is the cause of all this woe. The good news is that the artery is not located in the spinal column, which I assume is a way better scenario. I thank everyone for their prayers, if the invader was in the spinal column to begin with, he isn’t anymore. They are going to move her to a Dallas hospital. They are planning on taking more tests (its like she’s in high school again). Then once they have made a final decision, she will make they trip under the knife or laser or group of highly trained dolphins, whatever super advanced medical procedure they have these days, and let us all be thankful for those. (let it be known I chose the dolphin route rather than a Lost reference) I make light of the situation, but we are still in need of your prayer and are very grateful for all of the support thus far. I will be going to Dallas either tomorrow or Friday. I’m hoping the hospital has wireless and will update everyone as soon as surgery has ended with how things went. Again we have been very fortunate to have all of the support and prayers from friends and family. Thank you.

Currently, they are not entirely certain what is wrong. Right now the worst is over and she is in stable condition. She still is a little confused as to what is going on. They are continuing to keep her sedated and comfortable. Tomorrow they are going to present her tests to a group of neurosurgeons. I don’t think we will be getting any new information until then. I really do appreciate all the support and want to thank you all. My family also extends their thanks.

The morning’s tests indicated that her hemorrhage is not from a brain aneurysm, but from an abnormal vessel. The doctors are deciding the best way to treat her and are being very cautious not to cause another hemorrhage. She is having more testing done this afternoon. Thanks to everyone for all of your support.

This afternoon I found out one of my older sisters is in intensive care. She was admitted into a Fortworth hospital with a brain aneurism, and is currently 3 months pregnant. If everyone could keep her in their thoughts and prayers I would be eternally grateful. Her name is Jami Moss. I will try to keep people updated to her status as I get it.

Feast your eyes on this illicit footage. While I was wandering around the museum I thought, “some of these exhibits are a little to big for a single photo.” I proceed to take some video, nothing more than 10 or 15 seconds, all the while being followed by they museum security. Weather the security officers received higher orders or felt that my rule breaking shenanigans had gone on long enough, I was eventually approached by one of them. She asked, “Sir, are you taking video?” Me, thinking I had done nothing wrong tell her that I indeed was. Mind you I was not warned at the front desk when I came in that video footage was not allowed. The security guard then forcefully told me I needed to delete all of the footage. I’ll stop boring you with details, but this is the result of my deceit.

I’ve start work on a lego stop motion film for my final in graphics 2. I’m hoping it won’t be to cliche or overdone. If you haven’t seen Ali’s lego creation you should. If you don’t own legos I suggest raiding a 10 year old’s room, they are expensive.
