31tqcemryfl_ss500_10.Does It Offend You, Yeah! – You Have No Idea What Your Getting Yourself Into = Electronica for the whole family. This album has a little electronica for everyone, wether you like the pure synths, the robotic vocals, or just something that sounds like it was pulled from the eighties.

51kklzhpxwl_ss500_19.Edison Glass – Time Is Fiction = I’m a sucker for a good album cover, I can’t tell you how many albums I’ve tried that were awful but did because of the album art, obviously not the case here. Probably my favorite part of this album is dueling male falsetto vocals. The songs are heavily layered each like its own Jenga tower ready to fall if you breath wrong but you marvel in its intricate beauty.

61v70bvld8l_ss500_8.Charlie Hall – The Bright Sadness = I’m not normally one for “praise” music, but Charlie Hall slakes my thirst. Every Worship band or album sounds the same to me. The Worship land scape seems so devoid of change.

41qwegozcxl_sl500_aa240_7.Foxy Shazam – Introducing = Slap on your dancing shoes and throw away your inhibition. This album is a blast to listen to you never know what is going to happen next. This album is like listening to a great Jazz band on meth only with way better facial hair.

61foz-dvx6l_ss500_51nfkopubhl_ss500_6.Jon Foreman – Summer, Spring, Winter and Fall =  Jon Foreman, lead singer for switchfoot, for those of you living in holes, releases a great box set. The set is a definite departure from switchfoot, the music is far more experimental and the lyrics far more pointed.

514urgde2il_ss500_5.Seabird – Till We See The Shore = A guilty pleasure really, I mean they have been featured on Grey’s Anatomy and hold the theme song for Pushing daisies, not something you should lead with if you wanting to gain indie cred or maintain a heterosexual persona, But that is how good they are. Even with all that knowledge they still swing their way into the top 10.

51ft6inmgil_ss500_4.The Cool Kids – Bake Sale = If you’ve become fed up with the misogynistic lyrics and overly produced beats of rap, then welcome the sweet licks of The Cool Kids. With tracks about starting your day with a bowl of fruity pebbles and talking about the mag rims on your bicycle, you can bet this isn’t your local gang bangers rap. If you appreciate what hip-hop write a thank you letter to The Cool Kids and make the sealant on your cones rattle.

51jw-9eft0l_ss500_3.Santogold – Santogold = Who said pop was dead? Santogold is a brisk wind of change for the pop world. I say thank you Santogold for not relying on looks and ridiculous gimmicks, but constructing delicious beats and slinging interesting and fresh lyrics.

61ay91dflal_ss500_2.Thrice – The Alchemy Index Volume III & IV = Thrice has always been one of my favorites, this album is no exception. Thrice have never been ones to repeat themselves constantly trying new things while staying uniquely Thrice. This is the second half of a four disc element themed series. Earth and Air are the grittier style than Fire and Water, borrowing from some of Dustin’s tricks from his solo album.

picture-21.House of Heros – The End Is Not the End = Stunning, simply Stunning. As soon as the first track starts you feel like you in for another pop punk anthem album, but much to your own chagrin you’d be wrong. This album is a hearty breakfast and more. With salty bacon, fluffy pancakes, and sweet sweet syrup drizzled from Tim Skipper lips. Sure every breakfast is going to have its grapefruit moments but you do them anyway because it makes your breakfast balanced instead of a heart stopping grease pit.

The diagnostic Surgery went great. The doctor said she should have to have a follow for at 1 and a half to 2 years. The doctor was ecstatic with what he found. Also while at the hospital they met with their delivering doctor. They set a cesarean for the 16th of February. So lets hope the adventure the little guy or girl hasn’t been too ruff.

My sister goes back in for a follow up surgery this Friday. It is an out patient procedure so she should be home that night. I’m not sure what all is to be done in this surgery but I believe it is very similar to the first one. She was doing very well at Christmas. She was telling me that the doctors really don’t know how to classify what happened to her. The best they could describe it as was a stroke. I really appreciate everyone’s thoughts and prayers the last go around, I hope  that we are equally as blessed this go around. I will let you all know how it all turns out when I get word. If you could keep her and the little person inside her in your prayers this week, I extend you my gratitude.

After much toil I have chosen to get a twitter. I know what you are thinking, “AJ you’ve lasted this long I thought you would never cave.” to you I say I’m sorry. I did not venture into this decision lightly. Lately I keep hearing friends talk about how they heard one or friends just got this job, or how someone just bought a killer new album. Now I hope to not fall into the trappings of becoming a superfluous miniblog, spewing unyielding useless knowledge about the consistency of a friend of a friend’s poo. I still hope to stay in touch with those I care about, and I hope they still attempt to stay more than five steps closer to me.

I warn you now I have not explored the ins and outs of twitter. I have yet to make an initial “twitter,” to be quiet honest I’m a little taken back because I have already been followed for a year, prior to making my account. So at risk of becoming a angry, crotchety, old man, I will dip my foot a little further into the  twenty first century waters. “follow me

Christmas comes but once a year, or so the saying goes. If you are like everyone else, making fun of the people shopping in August for their friends and family but just now realizing you need to start, here are some places that could use your money.

Those are just a few with a little elbow grease and a pinch of carpal tunnel I’m sure you can find others. I know shopping at these places is a little more expensive, but if your tired of playing dumb to what you hear about wal-mart and others like them, do something. Things don’t change without a catalyst, be it. If that all sounds too hippie for you, I’m not advocating you stopping animals or where hemp or linen pants, I’m just asking we do our part to keep from falling into a dark pit with OJ Simpson and Dustin Diamond.

For those unable to make the tour here are some fuzzy photos and anecdotes you can tell your friends and act like you were there.

If they ask what the people around you were like you can answer drunk. Regal your guests with stories of old men complaining about the guy behind them singing too loud, or a really drunk lesbian couple using you as a stabilizer.

They even came up into the stands one section over from you and laid down a fantastic acoustic set. Don’t forget to mention the spectacular finale with Lovers In Japan, and coming back to wet your lips once more with Yellow.

As an added bonus you ran into your good friends Ali and Zac, always good to see old friends. And if you thought your night was over, just reminisce about how you locked your keys in your trunk and had to wait for the parking garage attendee to break into your car.
